Initial situation
Sophie was dissatisfied with the position of her front teeth. There was significant crowding of the lower incisors in particular. Several teeth were rotated and partially overlapping, making the dental arch appear restless.
The upper jaw also showed minor irregularities, so the dental arches did not run completely evenly overall.
The treatment goal was to resolve the crowding, correct the rotations, and achieve a harmonious alignment of both arches.
Treatment process
The total treatment duration was about two years. During this time, the aligners were changed regularly, typically every one to two weeks.
The trays were worn for around 22 hours daily and only removed for eating and dental hygiene. Regular check-up appointments verified progress and guided the treatment accordingly.
Treatment strategy
A more comprehensive aligner treatment was planned for Sophie. A total of 42 individually manufactured aligners were used to gradually achieve the necessary tooth movements.
Digital treatment planning allowed even more complex movements to be precisely controlled, so the crowding could be resolved in a controlled manner and the dental arches could be harmoniously aligned.
Result
After completing treatment, a significantly more harmonious tooth alignment emerged. The crowding in the lower jaw was resolved and the rotations of the incisors were corrected.
The dental arches appeared more even overall and the smile noticeably calmer. To stabilize the result long-term, a retention phase was scheduled afterwards.
